Pepe Castro (ANTONIO RESINES) is an old actor from Spaghetti Westerns who one night is visited by the ghost of Lee Van Cleef in a sort of nightmare/apparition, to tell him that he must return to the desert of Almería to shoot one last western before passing away. Lee also gives him the title of the movie: MALANZA (THE OPPOSITE OF BONANZA).
Upon waking from his alcoholic stupor, Pepe discovers Lee’s hat in the living room of his house and decides to get to work. After announcing his intentions to his agent and withdrawing his savings from the ATM, Pepe travels to Almería with his best friend and squire Mariano (CARLOS ARECES) to begin filming.
